Recipe: Cheesy Potato Soup

A family favorite in our house during cooler weather is Cheesy Potato Soup. I got the recipe from a friend of mine. Check her out over at Sew Cute Designs. I just tweaked it a little and we have been using and loving this recipe for a year or more.

Thoughtful Thursday Link Up

Overwhelmed. Tired. Busy.

The days can get so busy. Life can and will get away from me with piles and lists of things to do and not enough hours to do it in. Today I'm struggling with staying sane and not let myself get overwhelmed. I need to focus on what I want to do and the extra stuff I need to learn to say "NO" to. I need to un-rush my days. When I am able to do that the people most important to me will get the best of me and not the tired left overs. I'm taking a deep breath and releasing all this to God and asking Him to guide my schedule and days. When I ask God to take over, I release my control and just might have a chance to be the best me I can be for His glory.

15 Fall Date Night Ideas

Deriverative of original photo by Micky**. Used with CC.

I love Fall weather. The crisp mornings are my favorite but I love the colors of the changing leaves, bonfires, sweaters and hot cocoa!

Who loves date nights? Me!!
Who doesn't get them in as often as I'd like? Me!!

I asked some friends of mine what would be some good ideas for Fall Date Nights with their spouses. Here is what we came up with. Let me know if you have one to add to the list.

I Am Like a Toy Piano.

Derivative from the original photo by knownaa . Used under CC.

I Am Like a Toy Piano.

Have you seen A Charlie Brown Christmas? Remember the part where Schroeder is playing the small toy piano and all the other kids are enjoying the music and dancing? Instead of the flat metal chiming sound that a toy piano would normally make, Schroeder is able to play beautiful classical music! Amazing!

Thoughtful Thursday plus Link Up Party

Thoughtful Thursday.

Today I'm thankful for the people God has placed in my life to help me, pray with me, encourage me, love on me, and help me focus on God and His promises. It's important to surround yourself with godly family and friends. When we go through hard times in life it is great to have someone pick you up  and help you keep walking. We need each other!

Blessings,

Starla J.

Remembering the Good in My Husband

Life can play its toll on marriages if we don't have Christ as the center of it. Every time we turn the corner there is an attack on marriages. Everything from TV, internet, a busy life schedule and much more. We must slow down, focus, pray together and make our marriages a priority to be able to thrive! I don't know about you but I don't want to just survive, I want to thrive!

The Ultimate Schedule.

I'm on the hunt for the ultimate schedule. Does it exist?

We started school last week. Instead of running on our summer schedule we started our school schedule. For example we go to bed by 9pm (doesn't always happen) and get up at 6am (doesn't always happen). Eat breakfast, get dressed and start school by 8am. The kids seem to do well but I'm exhausted. Maybe because I'm not sleeping well. Between the dogs barking, cat running around like a mad man in the middle of the night and an occasional silly text from my parents, my sleep is broken. I hate that I'm such a light sleeper. Taking naps only make me more sleepy. So maybe in my sleep deprived state this really should be a sleep schedule post....LOL. I don't know, maybe it's just the "school just started exhaustion" until I get used to the new routine.

If you follow a house schedule including sleeping, cleaning, errands etc I would love to hear about it!!

Blessings,

Starla J.
