He prays for me.

He prays for me! His heart is moved for me. He loves me.He has great things in store for me.My heart can trust in Him.

The more I discover who Jesus is, the more I get to know Him, I find him to be better than ever before. He gets sweeter. Are there hard days. You bet! My heart is broken, my pain is deep, my need is great but there is victory in Jesus. We have to walk through trials and problems. Jesus is big enough to help us and to give us victory.

How do you honor your husband?

I love interview questions. I love hearing other's perspective on topics. This blog post is just that. Me hearing others perspective on honoring our husbands.

I'm curious if all wives honor their husbands in the same way? Do all husbands feel honored in the same way?

Healing from the pain.

Through the pain, hurt, tears and fears, God is there. When you feel like you are at the end of your rope, God is there to hold you. In the darkest of dark moments, let Him be your light. Pray and pray some more. Fast. Listen to great sermons/preachers. When you feel like pulling away from God, cling to Him instead. Praise Him through your tears. Surround yourself with godly friends that will encourage you and lift you up in prayer. Do not allow destructive thoughts in your thought closet. Your pain is deep and your need is great but if you rest in God, find your hiding place in Him, trust that He has you, and will take care of you even in these painful moments you will get through this.

Count Your Blessings Challenge

Hello Everyone!

It's Monday! Instead of getting sucked in to the negativity of "Monday" let's challenge each other to be positive today...and everyday. Let's speak life and scripture over ourselves, husbands, children, marriages, family, friends, ministry etc. Instead of letting our thoughts run away with us let's choose to focus and control them by not letting destructive thoughts in and only allowing positive thoughts to fill our minds.

Thoughtful Thursday plus Link Up.

Today is Thoughtful Thursday plus a Link Up!

I will be at church camp with my daughter this week. I'm so excited to go. Probably as much as she is! I'm looking forward to hanging with my friend and all the kids. So much fun will be had! There will be swimming, a color run, mud wars, lots of games plus worship services. I am really looking forward to seeing God move in all these kids lives but especially in my daughter. I am so blessed by God. He has given me the opportunity to raise this princess! I'm humbled. I'm so grateful for the chance to attend this church camp with my daughter and watch her not only have tons of fun but draw closer to God. I'm so excited! I'll post pics when we get home.

Blessings,

Starla J.

One-On-One Time With Your Kids.

Do you schedule one on one time with each of your kids?

My daughter is staying the night at my mom's house tonight so it's just my son and I hanging out today.  I'm loving having this rare moment of one on one alone time with him. He is only 5 years old and so much fun.

I have enjoyed creating some quality time with him. We watched his favorite cartoons with out interruptions from sister. We talked about everything he felt like talking about which included everything from his favorite dance moves to what he wanted to eat to who he wanted to invite to his birthday party (it's 6 months away). We ate lunch and dinner together. Just the two of us. Sitting side by side. Sharing food and talking about what was good and what wasn't so good. We played together. He taught me one of his own made up games. :) We watched a movie that he got to pick out without having to compromise with sister. We made homemade popsicles together. We cuddled. We prayed together. I love to hear him pray. Such a simple but oh so important prayer that comes out of my son.

As I have spent the day with my son, I'm reminded of what a blessing God has given me. Children are a blessing; every single one of them. I fail at getting this one on one time in but I will try harder. I have really enjoyed getting to know my son a little better today.

Let's not take our kids for granted. Let's love on them, encourage them, listen to them, play with them, and pray with them.

How can we create these quality moments with our kiddos?
1. Eat with your kids. Invite them to help you cook if they are old enough.
2. Play with your kids. You may just learn some new games. :)
3. Listen to your kids. They have a wonderful understanding of what's going on around them.
4. Be available to your kids. Just be there. Be present. Readily available to them when they need you.
5. Spend time with your kids. I've read that time=love for kids. Pour on the love!!
6. Be silly with your kids. Make silly faces, have a silly random dancing moment, sing really loudly to their favorite song, etc. Have fun!!
7. Be interested in what interests your kids. If you notice your kid likes something, be interested in it to. Join them in their interests and have fun exploring and learning something with your kids.
8. Read together. Have them pick a book they want to read and read it together. Take turns or just read it to them. Don't stop reading together!
9. Family devotions with your kids. It's our job as parents to point our kids to Jesus. Our kids need to see their parents join them in studying the bible, prayer and worship. Don't wait till Sunday's at church for the kids to see you or hear you talk about God.
10. Pray for your kids. Very important. We have a spiritual, God given authority over our kids and praying for them and over them is vital!

Let's pray.

Dear Lord,
Thank you for loving me in-spite of my weakness. You are made greater in weakness. Thank you for blessing me with my kids. Thank you for this day with my son. I have learned so much from him today. I have felt so much love from him today. It's amazing. I am humbled at this gift you have given me. Thank you! Help me to be the mother that my kids need me to be. Help me to be the mother that You want me to be, that You created me to be. Give me a pure heart. Renew my mind. Change me. Guide me. Heal me. Restore all that is broken in me and create in me a new person, woman, wife and mother. I'm sorry for when I fail You, my husband and my kids. Hold my hand and help me to be all that you intended me to be. Help me to be purposeful in being apart of my kids lives. Help me to slow down and take the time to create quality one on one moments with each of my munchkins. I love my family, Lord. Thank you for them. I love you Lord because you are Holy. You are worthy to be praised.
Amen.

How do you create quality time and moments with your kids? Thank you for being here with me. Please sign up to follow me by email so you never miss a post.

Blessings,

Starla J.
